Flash flooding sent inches upon inches of water into the streets of Washington, Pa. Friday evening stranding residents and submerging vehicles.
Several homes suffered flooding to their basements including damage to furnaces, air conditioning units and washing machines.
One woman said her new drainage system had just been installed Tuesday yet still failed. Backyards looked like lakes and streets looked more like streams.
The fire department on West Wheeling St said they received 90 calls during the storm and afterwards for help. Fortunately no one was injured.
Additional flooding loomed as rainfall continued again past 10:00 p.m. in Washington.
Parts of Westmoreland county flooded, and water rescue teams were out with law enforcement. Flash flood warnings continue to be issued for the region.
