Lake Effect Snow Hits Western PA

Lake effect snow is going to effect Western Pennsylvania through Central Pennsylvania Wednesday night.

Lake Erie is the cause of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania lake effect snow, but, due to the bust we had on the “blizzard”, this lake effect snow can prove to be dangerous overnight. With temperatures dropping and roads being wet, ice will be a concern for travels starting at 9PM tonight.

Below is a map of current notifications. Pink indicates a Winter Storm Warning is active and purple indicates a Winter Weather Advisory is still in effect.

We are expecting areas caught in snow squalls can receive upto another inch of snow possibly.

Those in the Central Pennsylvania area will not see additional accumulation unless you live within the ridges.

Eastern Pennsylvania may also see some additional snowfall form a relapse of the system that just moved through into the New York region.
