NWS Pittsburgh – 3/13/2017 Update

Little changes were made to the forecast from the last update. Expect the heavy snow to start after midnight in most areas. But this will not last very long outside the ridges. Once the coastal low matures and becomes the parent low pressure system, expect the flow to change quickly over the Pittsburgh region with the combination of the upper level disturbance forecast to shift over the region. With this change, enhanced snow showers and snow bands are expected to set up across the area. These snow bands can impact parts of the late Tuesday morning commute as well as the Tuesday evening commute. Don’t be surprised if these snow bands continue into Wednesday morning to impact morning travel. Overall, from tonight through Wednesday, it will be snowy and it will be getting much colder.
